Job Description
Duties
- Oversee and implement infection prevention and control programs within the skilled nursing facility.
- Monitor, investigate, prevent, and control infectious diseases to ensure the health and safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
- Collaborate closely with nursing leadership, medical staff, and facility teams to ensure compliance with state and federal infection control regulations and best practices.
- Duties may include additional documentation, treatment, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid California nursing license.
- Must have 1+ years’ experience as IP/Risk Management Nurse.
- Infection Control Certification (CIC) preferred or obtain certification immediately.
- A strong work ethic, professional appearance and demeanor, and acceptable general knowledge of all Nursing practices.
- Experience with infection surveillance, outbreak management, and infection prevention program development.
- In-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control guidelines, including CDC, CMS, OSHA, and CDPH regulations.
- Strong understanding of microbiology, epidemiology, and infection control practices.
- Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and infection surveillance systems.
- Must be fluent in English. (Armenian / Spanish speaking is a plus.)
