In 1949, the founders of Ararat Home established the mission to care for elderly members of the Armenian community. To help ensure that this mission of care continues in perpetuity, the Home’s trustees established an Endowment Fund in 1997, with an initial investment of $346,000. With the generous support of over 60 individuals, families, trusts and foundations, the Endowment Fund’s principal value today is over $7.3 million. While the principal is invested in a balanced portfolio of mutual funds, the income generated from interests and dividends is periodically distributed to the Home’s General Fund to support its operations.
